Dennis Paye was born in Green Bay, Wisconsin, to Renia and Ira Paye. He was raised in Dykesville with his three siblings—Lyle, Randall, and Mary (Borland)—and attended Saint Louis Grade School and Premontre High School. Dennis went on to attend the University of Wisconsin at Oshkosh where he met lifelong friends, and upon graduation, he worked in cable TV. He lived in Cleveland, Ohio, before moving to Portland, Oregon, where he met his wife, Joan (Feyen), and many dear friends.
Dennis and Joan were married on August 6, 1988, in Oregon on The Columbia Sternwheeler. Throughout their 37 years together, they loved hosting parties filled with cheer and hospitality.
Dennis spent the next twenty years in Portland and worked for the Portland Trail Blazers basketball team and then as a home inspector. He later retired and became a stay-at-home dad to his daughters, Sara (Feick, b. 1990) and Kathleen (b. 1993).
In 2006, Dennis moved with his family to Las Vegas, Nevada.
Throughout his life, Dennis was a dedicated, unassuming, and generous man. Endlessly thoughtful, he offered his time, stories, and guidance. He enjoyed playing poker and tending to his backyard cactus garden. He was a Green Bay Packers football superfan. He had a great sense of humor, faithfully decorated for Christmas, and was famous for his skills on the barbecue grill. He was kind, loving, and often nurturing in his approach to life. A family man, he was driven by his purpose to provide, protect, and spend quality time with loved ones.
Dennis and his family are infinitely grateful to the family and friends who offered their companionship over the years, and their care and comfort now. He is remembered as a gentle, sweet, and strong husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend.
Surviving him are his wife, Joan, and their children: Sara, with her husband, Jeffrey; and Kathleen, with her partner, Alex Carpenter. He is also survived by his brother Lyle, his stepdaughter with her husband, Jennifer and Matt Cambio, and their family; his brother Randall, his wife, Laura, and their daughters with their husbands, Morgan and John Heinen, Abby and Tom DeLeers, and their families; his sister Mary, her husband, Bob, their daughter, Lindsay, and her fiancé, Christian Blommel; his beloved cousin, William (Bill) Paye; along with countless wonderful friends.
He is preceded in death by his sister in-law Jonie Paye; and his parents, whom he loved and cared for consistently.
