Devon Lynn Stoddard

Devon Lynn (Alent) Stoddard, 45, of Glendale, Arizona succumbed to the progression of cancer, Osteosarcoma, on the 26th of November 2025 in her home. She was born on the 14th of February 1980 at 8:28 a.m. in Bad Axe, Michigan to Paul and Shelly (Schrader) Alent.

Devon graduated from Ubly High School in 1998. She received her Associates Degree and Medical Assistant certification where she was employed by the Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, Arizona. She spent 16 years in dermatology, caring and tending to others. She married Chad Stoddard on the 14th of August 2009. They raised four dogs together, Koda, Sydney, Brooks and Rainier. Devon enjoyed the adventure of camping, hiking, traveling, any and every game, sports, seeing the wonders nature provided. "Adventure awaits" was always her attitude on any given day or any given opportunity.

Her husband paid this tribute to her, "Devon redefined how you conduct yourself in the face of any adversity with an unyielding attitude and sense of self-worth that was inspirational. She was a pleasure to be around in any situation that she had encountered, no matter the circumstance or setting. It was always done with a smile, uncanny outlook, and heartfelt warmth that was unmatched even in the face of adversity. She had the ability to light up any room regardless of the setting, mood, or atmosphere."

She will be missed beyond words. She is survived by her husband, Chad; her stepson, Colt; and their two dogs, Brooks and Rainier; her loving parents, Paul and Shelly Alent; her sister, Melissa (Fred) Pallas; and her sister, Nicole (Tom) Jacobs. She also leaves behind her pride and joys, whom she lovingly called "hers": Freddie, Gavyn, Natalie, Mayah, and Kenzie. As the best aunt, she created lasting memories with each of them and helped shape them into the adults they are today.

Devon was blessed with a wonderful family, including her amazing in-laws, Russ and Suzanne Stoddard, brother-in-law Johnathon (Sarah) and their son Jaxon. Mother-in-law Karen Burr (Rob Downham), brother-in-law, David and his three children Chloe, Emma and Ethan. She had many aunts and cousins who were not only family but also dear friends. Devon had a special way of making everyone feel like they were her favorite person. There will not be a day that she is not thought of and deeply missed. She was greeted in heaven by her beloved dogs Syndey and Koda, as well as her grandparents, special aunts and uncles.

Please join us in celebrating her beautiful life at the Ubly Heights Country Club in Ubly, MI, on December 20th from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. A memorial will begin at 2 p.m., during which friends and family may share special memories of Devon, food will be provided.
