Diana Marie "Dee Dee" Kendall (née Crockett), age 56, passed away on February 12, 2026, at Legacy Good Samaritan Hospital in Portland, Oregon, surrounded by her loving family. Born on January 6, 1970, in Portland, Diana remained deeply connected to her hometown throughout her life.
Diana dedicated many years of her professional life as a picker and Logistic Coordinator for The Coffee Bean in Portland, Oregon. Her work was not only a career but also a shared journey with her husband of over 35 years, James E. Kendall. Together, they formed a strong partnership both at home and in the workplace.
A devoted and loving mother, Diana is survived by her three children: Michale Todd Johnson, Michelle Marie Johnson, and James Kendall Jr. She also leaves behind her beautiful Granddaughter Mika Marie Davis. As well as her cherished parents, Larry and Veronica Crockett of Abilene, Texas; her sister Kathryn J. Stroud and brother-in-law Michel W. Stroud of North Carolina; and numerous cousins including Randy and Cindy Wood, Harold and Mickey Wood, as well as Teresa, Elizabeth, and David of Douglas, Wyoming.
Diana was preceded in death by her mother Barbara K. Trewyn, who passed away during the COVID epidemic on May 3, 2020, in North Carolina.
Known for her vibrant individuality and creative spirit, Diana had a passion for collecting skulls—a reflection of her unique style that brought her joy. She expressed herself through various artistic mediums including glasswork, pottery, and acrylic painting. Traveling was another source of happiness for Diana; she embraced new experiences with enthusiasm and curiosity. In quieter moments, she found peace in adult coloring books—an activity she used to unwind and reflect. When not expressing her creative sprit, she enjoyed getting lost in various lands and adventures in her books and stories. Terry Brook, Stephen King and Dean Koontz were only a few of her favorite authors.
Diana's strength shone brightly even in the face of adversity. After being diagnosed with cancer in December 2024, she faced the illness with courage until her passing.
Her memory will live on through those who knew and loved her. May her creativity continue to inspire and may her legacy bring comfort to all whose lives she touched.
