Diane Rose Hultquist passed away on July 13, 2023, in Dallas, Texas. Her life was marked by an insatiable curiosity for the world, a generous spirit, and a deep commitment to education and exploration.

Born on July 13, 1946, in Elmhurst, Illinois, Diane grew up with a strong sense of purpose and a drive to learn. She graduated from Lake Park High School in the class of 1966 and continued her academic journey at the College of DuPage in 1968, earning her degree in 1973. Her passion for learning led her to pursue computer science at Arizona State University in 1976. Never one to stop growing intellectually, she later completed an MBA at the University of Dallas in 1984.

Diane's professional life reflected her adventurous nature and keen intellect. While specific career details are not noted, one of the great highlights of her life was achieving the remarkable milestone of visiting 100 countries and embarking on 100 cruises—a testament to her love for travel and discovery. Her journeys took her across continents by land and sea, enriching her life with diverse cultures and unforgettable experiences.

A devoted traveler, Diane was also an active member of a ski club that ventured to destination ski areas both domestically and internationally. Her zest for adventure was matched by her enthusiasm for sharing those experiences with others. In 2019, she met Terry Dill on a cruise to Spain. The two became devoted traveling companions over the next three years, embarking on numerous cruises and land tours together. Their shared adventures brought Terry closer to his own goal of visiting 100 United Nations countries.

Beyond her travels, Diane had a big heart and a unique talent for finding deals. She was once an avid coupon clipper and later used her knack for bargain hunting to purchase food and goods intended for donation to shelters, food banks, and children's programs. Though time sometimes limited her ability to distribute all these items as planned—leading them to accumulate in her home—her intentions were always rooted in kindness and generosity.

Her compassion extended globally as well; during many of her international trips, she brought packages of school supplies to donate to schools in developing countries. These small acts reflected a larger commitment to making the world a better place through thoughtful gestures.

Diane is survived by her two children: daughter Tracy and son Peter; her sister Kathleen Savage; brothers David (Eileen) Hultquist, Fred W. (Kathy) Hultquist, and Timothy (Gwen) Hultquist; stepbrothers Daniel (Carol) Trkula and Mark Trkula; as well as three grandchildren through Tracy.

Diane Rose Hultquist lived fully—with intellect, generosity, and an unquenchable thirst for exploration. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew her and inspiration to those who hear her story.
