Diane (Diers) Johnson (1945 - 2025)
Diane Delores (Diers) Johnson, aged 80, a devout Christian, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother from Lake Elmo MN, returned to God peacefully on December 13, 2025 after a brief stay at St Johns Hospital, where she used to volunteer with Stephen Ministries.
She was born in Medford MN in 1945 to Walt & Jessie (Barker) Diers. Through their parents, Diane met the love of her life, Jim Johnson, at St Olaf College. In their 61 years of marriage, they were blessed with 3 children, 7 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. Diane was an accomplished musician and played the piano, French horn, and had a beautiful singing voice. She sang in church choir for over 35 years with her husband Jim.
Diane was a devoted Christian mother who cherished her Bible and the teachings of Jesus Christ. Over the years, they attended, St Timothy's & St Andrew's Lutheran Church, Community of Grace, and most recently Rockpoint Church, and took solace in knowing the Lord was watching over them, and the peace knowing that this world is not their home.
She had the gift of gab and could start a meaningful conversation with anyone, was an eloquent writer, and would have made an amazing editor. She never wanted to be a burden, and in her kindness even apologized to the nurses in the end, which made them love her even more.
Diane was preceded in death by Walt & Jessie Diers, and is survived by Jim Johnson (husband), their children Carla Goetz (John) Mason, OH, Erik Johnson Mountain View, CA, Mark Johnson (Jill) St Michael, MN, her grandchildren Matthew, Aaron, & Rachel (Goetz) Rockey, Kali (Johnson) Thunder, Alex, Abby & Andrew Johnson, and 3 great grandchildren.
Donations to 'Leading the Way' (ltw.org) in her name are encouraged.
