Dianne Barnett

1932 - 2026

Dianne "Dinny" Barnett passed away on April 15, 2026. She died surrounded and held by her closest family and loved ones.

Dianne played a lot of roles — wife, mother, aunt, dancer, traveler, balabusta — and she had the wardrobe and accessories to prove it. No matter the occasion, she dressed with a pizzazz that matched her spirit. She was also "as a matter of fact," a Bubby. Not a grandma — a Bubby. She made that distinction clearly and often, and if you forgot, she reminded you.

A prolific card writer, she never missed a birthday, anniversary, or other milestone. This was especially impressive since her husband, Bobby, was one of 10 children, which meant dozens of nieces and nephews whose birthdays, milestones, and occasions were all on Dianne's radar, all year, every year. Her cards were often accompanied by a song because Bobby and Dianne were known to call and perform a little number for the occasion.

Dianne was feisty, and she was also fun, just so much fun. She danced until she couldn't, loved fiercely until the end, and remained herself fully and unmistakably every single day of her 94 years. Those who knew her will forever miss that tiny, adorable lady with such a big and bold personality.

Dianne is survived by her children, Gene Barnett and Mindy "Mindella" Barnett-Parker (David); grandchildren Sarah Barnett (Lizzie), Jordan Barnett-Parker (Marissa), and Daniel Barnett-Parker (Katy); great-grandchildren Henry and Finn; and her loving caregiver, Angeline. She is predeceased by her beloved husband of 71 years, Bobby, and her sisters Freida Mazer and Francine Allen.

An intimate service was held April 17 in Lauderhill, where she was laid to rest with Bobby.
