Dianne Margaret (Pierce) DuVarney, age 75, passed away at UF Health Leesburg Hospital on February 6, 2026, surrounded by her husband, children, and grandchildren. She was the devoted, loving wife of Douglas DuVarney for over 53 years. She was born in Rochester, NH on January 23, 1951 to the late Norman F. Pierce and Margaret W. Pierce.

Dianne grew up in Rochester and graduated from Spaulding High School in 1969. She was a member of the National Honor Society, enjoyed playing the flute, being a majorette, and getting the lead in the school play her senior year. She attended Plymouth State College, where she was a member of Kappa Sigma Phi Sorority. She earned an Associate of Arts degree from the College for Lifelong Learning University System of New Hampshire.

Dianne began her career in 1973 as a licensed insurance claims adjuster at Kendall Insurance in Rochester, NH. Shortly thereafter, she embarked on a lengthy career at Frisbie Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NH. She began her career as a medical transcriptionist and went on to work in the Radiology department. She was extremely proud to be appointed to the position of Physician Practice Manager in 1994. Dianne was a true professional and earned the Physician Practice Management Certificate from The Healthcare Assembly of Boston in 1998. After moving to Florida, she worked as an Administrative Assistant for Surgical Services at AdventHealth Waterman Hospital in Tavares until her retirement. During the 1990’s, Dianne also worked in the family business, Tri-State Sportscards and Memorabilia.

Dianne married her college sweetheart on July 8, 1972. They spent their honeymoon tent camping across the United States that summer. Two kids in love with only a dream. That dream did come true when they bought their home and raised a family. The family enjoyed many wonderful years of camping vacations.

Dianne was a consummate lifelong learner with many interests, including reading, watching movies on her iPad, walking, travel, crafts and cross-stitch projects to give as gifts to friends and family. Dianne loved to decorate her Florida home for the holidays. She made every holiday warm and special. She always enjoyed listening to music by Paul McCartney and was so happy to see him in concert.

Living in Florida, close to Orlando, afforded Dianne and Doug the opportunity to visit Walt Disney World numerous times over the years, where they enjoyed spending the day just being together and having fun in the parks.

Dianne loved and took great pride in her two children and three grandchildren. In retirement, she found special joy in watching her granddaughter Jill’s field hockey games, Tuesday night FaceTime calls from her grandson Sam at SMU, and video calls with her youngest grandson Connor, which allowed her to see him on his many adventures.

Dianne made friends wherever she went, whether it was at the doctor’s office, hospital, hair salon, restaurant, grocery shopping, or just while walking in the neighborhood. She knew everyone and was the most genuine, caring, faithful, supportive, loving friend we all felt blessed to have. Dianne enjoyed her life, making memories and following her heart. She was an extraordinary wife, mother, grandmother, friend, and family member whose absence leaves a void in the lives of those who knew her. She made the world a better place by radiating kindness and joy. She will be deeply missed.

Dianne leaves behind her loving husband and best friend, Douglas DuVarney; her son, Craig DuVarney, and his wife, Joanne, of Bartlett, NH; and her daughter, Melissa Dianne DuVarney of Rochester, NH. She was fondly known as Grammie and Gee Gee to her three grandchildren, Sam, Jill, and Connor. She is also survived by her sister, Cynthia Drake of Rye, NH, and several nieces, a nephew, and cousins. She was predeceased by her sister, Karen Perkins.

“To live in the hearts we leave behind is not to die.”

There will be no funeral services, and the burial at Woodlawn Cemetery in Nashua, NH will be private. A celebration of her life will be at a later date. The family has requested that remembrances be made in the form of contributions to your favorite charity in Dianne’s name.
