Dolores Ann Byrley-Murphy

Dolores Ann Byrley-Murphy, aged 98, passed away on December 2, 2025, in Maryville, TN. Born on February 5, 1927, Dolores dedicated her life to her family and community, leaving a legacy of love and service.
Dolores was the epitome of a nurturing mother and homemaker, always ensuring that her home was a welcoming space for friends, family, and neighbors. Her commitment to her family was unparalleled, particularly cherished for the life she built with her beloved husbands, George Byrley (1945-1998) and Robert Murphy (1999-2001), and her children. She found great joy and purpose in her active participation at her local church and senior center, where she touched many lives with her kindness and generosity.
An avid reader, Dolores found solace and adventure in books, with a stack always ready at her bedside each night. Her home in Maryville was filled with the echoes of pages turning and the warmth of shared stories.
She was a proud alumna of St. Leo's School in Queens, NY, where she formed her early educational and spiritual foundations.
Dolores was preceded in death by her parents, Nicholas Candella and Catherine Saunders; her husbands, George Byrley (1945-1998) and Robert Murphy (1999 -2001); her son, Rusty Byrley; and her bonus daughter Kolette Hansen. She is survived by her daughter, Becky Byrley; and her bonus grandson, Brad Hansen (Ashley), who will continue to honor her legacy by embodying the family values she cherished.
A service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, December 13th at 10:00 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2508 Appleby Sand Rd, Nacogdoches, TX 75965.
Dolores's life was a testament to the power of community and faith, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and the many lives she touched.
