Dolores Reismeier, 93, of Easton, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2026, at Gracedale Nursing Home in Nazareth, PA.
Born December 20, 1932, in Altoona, Pennsylvania, to parents Bernadine (Adams) and Edgar V. Sheehan, Dolores lived a life defined by devotion to family, generosity of spirit, and a joyful sense of humor that remained with her throughout her 93 years. Early in her adult life she worked as an X-ray technician in Philadelphia and later pursued a Masters in Psychology, but her greatest and most cherished role was that of Mother and Nana. She dedicated her life to raising and caring for her family, creating a home filled with warmth, laughter, light and unconditional love.
Dolores was predeceased by her beloved husband of 52 years, Thomas J. Reismeier, who passed away in 2006; her son, Thomas M.Reismeier, who passed away in 1995; and her brother Ronald Sheehan, who passed away in 2021.
She is survived by her children: Michael Reismeier and his wife Lynne; Susanne Murray and her husband Michael; Christian Reismeier and his wife Mary; Lise Lahood and her partner Edward Boudrot; Stephen Reismeier; and Ellen Reismeier. She was the proud grandmother of seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, all of whom meant the world to her. Nothing brought Dolores greater joy than a house full of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In her later years, her daughter Susanne and son-in-law Michael Murray lovingly moved into her home and devoted more than twelve years to caring for both Dolores and Stephen. Their dedication allowed her to remain surrounded by family, love and comfort, something she treasured deeply. The family is truly grateful for their love and devotion to maintaining the continuity of the family, especially for Stevie.
Dolores found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved tending to her gardens, watching the birds outside her window, traveling, reading, and challenging herself with crossword puzzles. She was also known for her fearless passion for karaoke and performing. If there was a microphone and music nearby, Dolores was sure to commandeer it. But her love of music reached far beyond the stage; music was woven into the fabric of her soul. You knew she was happy when you heard her humming softly or singing around the house. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren will forever hear her singing “You Are My Sunshine” in their hearts, a song that became one of the many ways she wrapped them in her love. Her family will always remember her laughter, her bold spirit, and the unmistakable Irish wit that stayed with her until the very end.
Above all else, Dolores was a bright light in the lives of those who knew and loved her. Her kindness, humor, and unwavering devotion to her family will remain her greatest legacy.
A private celebration of life will be held by the family at a later date.
