Dolores Louise Rickhoff (née Aprile), of Naperville, Illinois, passed away peacefully on December 19, 2025, just ten days before her 85th birthday. Born on December 29, 1940, in Chicago, Illinois, she was the cherished daughter of Salvatore and Ruth Aprile.
Dolores shared a devoted marriage with her late husband, William Rickhoff. She is survived by her sons who were the pride of her life, William (Ellen) and Joseph (Jane), her sister Susanne (James) Rehm, brother Salvatore Aprile, and grandsons Bradley, William J., and Anthony—each of whom held a special place in her heart. She was beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband William; her brother Michael Aprile; and her sisters Shirley Brill and Ruth Lang. Their memories remained close to Dolores's heart throughout her life.
Rooted deeply in her Italian heritage, Dolores embraced the traditions and values passed down through generations. Her home was a haven of warmth and generosity, where family and friends gathered to share meals crafted with love. Her kitchen was more than a place to cook—it was a space where bonds were strengthened and memories made.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at 10:00 AM, at St. Gerald Church, located at 9310 S. 55th Court in Oak Lawn, IL.
In the spirit of reverence and gratitude, the family kindly requests that, in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to
St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. By supporting this noble cause, we can honor Dolores's compassionate nature and continue her legacy of love and care for all.
Dolores will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. May she rest in peace.
