Donald Joseph Comeaux Sr., age 82, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2026, in Bay Minette, Alabama. He was born on July 25, 1943, in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Donald proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1960 to 1965, attaining the rank of Airman. During his service, he was stationed in Cuba during the Cuban Missile Crisis, an experience that remained a source of quiet pride throughout his life. He continued his service in the National Guard from 1965 to 1967, achieving the rank of Airman Second Class.

A master craftsman and veteran tradesman, Donald dedicated his life to hard work and to caring for his family. He had a deep passion for using his hands, especially in building and construction, and took great pride in the things he created. Outside of work, he was known as a great BBQ chef who loved bringing people together over good food. He enjoyed listening to “oldies but goodies” and was a devoted fan of the Saints and LSU football.

Donald is survived by his sister, Sandra (Comeaux) Manlove; his sons, Donald Joseph Comeaux Jr. (Mary Kay) and Darrin Michael Comeaux (Jackie); three grandchildren, Nicholas Vizier Comeaux (Bailee), Breton Thomas Comeaux, and Sydney Michelle Comeaux; and three great-grandchildren, Sawyer Vizier Comeaux, Cecilia Bell Comeaux, and Celine Frances Comeaux.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 59 years, Jacquelyn Marie (Methe) Comeaux, and their children, Michelle Suzanne Comeaux, Gerald James Comeaux, and Daniel Jason Comeaux.

Donald will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, a man of skill, dedication, and strength, whose love for his family and pride in his work defined his life.

A Funeral Mass will be held on February 6, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Agatha Catholic Church, located at 1001 Hand Avenue, Bay Minette, Alabama. Military honors will take place at 10:45 a.m. at St. Agatha Church prior to the Mass. A social gathering will follow the service.

A private burial will be held at the Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 34904 AL-225, Spanish Fort, Alabama.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Donald’s memory to St. Joseph Hospice Foundation, 7515 Jefferson Hwy #214, Baton Rouge, LA 70806 or St. Agatha Catholic Church, Bay Minette, Alabama, honoring his life and passions.
