Donald "Don" L. Erickson
Born October 20, 1941, in Williston, ND, Don passed away peacefully on December 13, 2025, at age 84 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Raised on the farm in Chokio, MN, Don loved sports, music, and met the love of his life, Lois. After high school, Don served six years in the Ready Reserves Army program before moving to Minneapolis and working for the US Postal Service. Don married Lois on August 7, 1965, and celebrated 60 years together this past August. Don's happy place was Lake Traverse—fishing, tinkering in his shed, and ending the day by the fire with a cold Coors. Known for his quiet strength and devotion, he gave generously of his time to family, friends, and community. He was meticulous in organizing garages and lake properties but always paused for sports, cheering on everything from pro games to his grandchildren's activities. He also enjoyed card games with a friendly wager.
Preceded in death by his son Chad and parents Lloyd and Netabelle Erickson, Don is survived by his wife Lois; daughter Carmen (Steve) Meyer; daughter-in-law Amy Erickson; and grandchildren Lorna (Josh), Kyle (Mikayla), Ellie, Emersyn, and Jack.
