Donald Allan Fox

Donald Allan Fox, 71, of Dansville, NY, passed away on March 30, 2026, at Strong Memorial Hospital.

Born on January 23, 1955, in Dansville, Donald was the son of the Rev. Richard and Verna Fox. He was a graduate of SUNY Geneseo, where he earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in biology.

Donald was a lifelong educator who dedicated his career to teaching at Wayland‑Cohocton Central School and later at SUNY Geneseo. He loved teaching students new things about science and sharing his intellectual curiosity and enthusiasm for learning with others. He valued friendship and camaraderie, especially with his friends in the Hemlock Poker Tour.

Donald is survived by his children, Arthur Fox (Peyton Rave) and Elizabeth Fox (Whitney Johnson); the mother of his children, Laurie Fox; his parents, the Rev. Richard and Verna Fox; his brother, Dennis (Iris) Fox; as well as extended family and friends.

Donald was predeceased by his son, Nathan Fox; his sister, Linda Fox Kester; and his brother, David Fox.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
