Donald Paul "Don" Prue, of New Milford, Connecticut, passed away on December 27, 2025, at the age of 75.
Born on November 6, 1950, in Newport, Vermont, Don lived a life defined by service, hard work, and devotion to those around him. From 1970 to 1971, he served as an infantryman in the United States Army during the Vietnam War - a chapter that reflected his courage and steadfast commitment.
Following his military service, Don was a stationary engineer at Boehringer Ingelheim. He worked diligently until his retirement in 2019, earning the respect of colleagues through his reliability and work ethic. Outside of work, Don found joy in nature and adventure. He enjoyed hunting (2 Moose!) when possible, along with golfing and fishing. In later years, he found his greatest joy in spending time with his grandchildren.
A true jack of all trades, Don was always ready to lend a hand with home repairs or car projects. Whether family, friend, or neighbor, many benefited from his willingness to help. Despite the distance from his siblings across Vermont, Tennessee, Arizona, Florida, and New Mexico, Don remained a constant presence in their lives through daily conversations.
He is survived by his beloved wife Sue and their loyal dog Lexi; daughter Valerie Prue and her husband Anthony Ramirez and their children Ethan, Bella, Dylan, and Kyle; daughter Marcy Pasquariello and her husband Timothy and sons Spencer and Logan. He also leaves behind brothers Vernon Prue, Ronald Prue and his wife Grace, and Steven Prue; sisters Marlene Marcotte, Anita Prue, and Patricia Carter and her husband James; along with several nieces and nephews.
Don was predeceased by his parents Vernon and Dorothy Prue; brother Bobby Prue; sisters Doran Prue and Sandra Breeding; sister-in-law Shirlene Prue; and brother-in-law Roger Marcotte.
