Donald Skonieczny

Donald Michael Skonieczny, Age 70, of Mantua OH, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 4, 2026.Don was known for his unwavering work ethic, stoic strength, and gentle heart, He touched the lives of all who knew him. Born on October 17, 1955, in Detroit, MI, he dedicated his life to his family, always leading by example and showing that true strength lies in kindness and perseverance. Outside of work, Don cherished a myriad of hobbies including moonshining, woodworking, cooking/baking. His quiet wisdom and steady presence were a source of comfort to family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife: Jill (Moravec) Skonieczny. His three children: Kristie (Keith) Brunswick, Melissa (Todd) Shorts, and Thomas Skoniecnzy. Five grandchildren: Emilie, Alayna, Jake, Olivia, & Madilyn. Don leaves behind a big, close-knit family who cherished him deeply & will carry his memory forward. His legacy of integrity, humility, and love will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at a later date, in the way Don would have wanted—surrounded by family and friends & sharing stories around the don-fire.
