Donald Swanson, 78, passed away on January 15, 2026, in Dade City, Florida. Born on April 9, 1947, in Manchester, New Hampshire, Donald lived a full and vibrant life marked by dedication to his work, love for his family, and a joyful spirit that touched all who knew him.

A proud veteran of the United States Army, Donald served his country during the Vietnam War. His service was a defining chapter in his life and reflected the strength and resilience he carried throughout his years.

After returning home from military service, Donald found his calling in the culinary world. He worked in numerous kitchens across Manchester—affectionately known as the Queen City—where he honed his skills and shared his passion for cooking. His talent and leadership eventually led him to ElectroPac, where he ran the company cafeteria for over three decades. There, he became a beloved figure among coworkers and staff alike, known not only for his delicious meals but also for the warmth and humor he brought to every shift.

Donald was an amazing cook whose meals brought people together. Whether preparing food professionally or at home for loved ones, he poured care into every dish. He also had a deep love for dancing—a joy that lit up any room he entered.

Upon retiring from ElectroPac, Donald embraced a new chapter of life in Florida with his partner John. Together they built a beautiful home complete with a pool—a dream realized through years of hard work and shared vision. Their life in Dade City was filled with comfort and companionship.

Donald cherished his family deeply. He is survived by his devoted partner of 35 years John Daley; his niece Lisa Swanson—whom he lovingly called his daughter; sisters Marjorie & Frank Blanchard of Pembroke, NH; Diane Pineault of Manchester, NH; Judith Chani of West Palm Beach, FL; and Janet Gardner of Webster, NH; brothers Gerald & Jeanne Swanson of Nashua, NH; and James & Pauline Swanson of Dade City, FL.

He was preceded in death by his parents Gerald and Barbara Swanson; brothers Gary Swanson, Brian Swanson, and Tommy Swanson; and sister Linda Winfrey Hall.

Donald's legacy lives on through the many lives he touched—with laughter around kitchen tables, music on dance floors, and memories made under Florida skies. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.
