Donna Sue Ben-Barrak

Donna Sue Ben-Barrak, age 75, passed away at her home in Ozark, AL on the morning of November 25th,2025. She was born in Gridley, Ca to LaVerne and Jack Moon Sr on January 3, 1950. As a teen, Donna moved to the Bay Area and graduated from Lynbrook HS in 1968. Donna had a passion for cosmetology and travel. She would spend her early days frosting and cutting hair for fun, always bringing her portable bonnet hairdryer along with her. She met and married her first husband, Jimmie Etheridge, and they welcomed 2 daughters. The young family of 4 moved from San Jose to the Yuba City Area in 1979 where Donna began her career in Healthcare Administration at the Colusa Medical Center in Colusa, CA. In 1986, Donna and her 2 daughters relocated to Alabama to begin their new life adventure. Donna loved the coastal air, beaches, sunshine, cooking and traveling to foreign countries experiencing the rich cultures available to her. She loved to create dishes and meals inspired by her travels, for all to enjoy. She was predeceased by her husband of 25 years Amos Ben-Barrak, her parents Jack Moon Sr. and LaVerne & Kenneth Williamson and siblings Jack Moon Jr. and Billie Moon. Donna is survived by her 2 daughters Jacqulyn (Jason) Ketchum of Dothan, AL and Jaime (Chad) Krauss-Haring of Pottstown, PA and 7 grandchildren Marissa, Jackson, Hattie, Kaitlyn, Hannah Claire, John and Brandon. Donna grew up in a blended home and is survived by 6 siblings: Sharon Munoz of Auburn, CA, Barbara (John) Gately and J. Kevin Moon of Gridley, CA, Gary (Melody) Willamson of Phoenix, AZ, Wendy (Joel) Cigelske of Fair Oaks, CA, Joan (late Terry) Branson of Austin, TX.
