Donna Marie Ferraro-Bache, aged 58, passed away peacefully at home after a courageous battle with cancer, on March 19, 2026, in Leicester, Mass. Born on June 6, 1967, in Worcester, Mass, Donna was a graduate of St. Mary's High School in Worcester, where she formed many lifelong friendships.
Donna dedicated many years of her life working at the Worcester Rehabilitation Center, where she deeply valued her relationships with both colleagues and residents, considering them as her extended family. Along with being a black belt in the martial arts field, her compassion extended beyond her professional life into her personal passions. A true animal enthusiast, she discovered her passion while attending the animal behavioral program at Becker Junior College. Donna spent countless hours nurturing and caring for animals. She was a familiar face at local farms like Breezy Gardens and Coopers Farm, where she joyfully fed goats and other farm animals along with Wilbur and Arrow.
Donna was predeceased by her father, Paul Ferraro, and stepfather, Lawrence Brusa. She is survived by her loving husband, James Bache; her mother, Maureen Brusa; her brother, Paul Ferraro and his wife, Karen; sisters, Sandy McAvoy and her partner Paul; Liane Friel along with her husband, Joshua; beloved nephews Shane, Michael, and Steven along with his fiancé Tayler; stepbrothers, Mark Brusa Sr., Christopher Brusa and his wife, Tracy, and Adam Brusa and his wife, Kristi; and stepsister, Julie Campbell and her husband, Michael. And her extended family of nieces and nephews.
The family would like to send a special thank you to Lori at Dana Farber Milford Palliative Care Unit, along with Maura, Colleen and Tara of Notre Dame Hospice for the loving and compassionate care they provided to Donna during her journey.
Burial services for Donna will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Mass Vest-A-Dog, P.O. Box 113, Mendon, Mass. 01756, to honor Donna's love for animals. Her gentle spirit and compassion will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.
