Donna Jane Howell was born on April 4, 1935, in Akron, Ohio, and passed peacefully on April 4, 2026, in Round Rock, Texas — on her 91st birthday.
Raised by her grandparents, Bernard and Pamila Coffman, alongside her sisters Anna and Norma, Donna grew up in a lively household full of music, stories, and warmth. She married Raymond Walter Lash and raised three children in California. In her later years, she relocated to Leander, Texas, to be near her son Steven, and spent her final two years in the care of Trinity Care Center in Round Rock.
Donna was known for her kindness, her strong will, her love of animals, crossword puzzles, and The Andy Griffith Show, and for the stories she told with joy and pride until the very end.
She is preceded in death by her sisters Mary, Anna, and Norma, and her brother Fred.
She is survived by her son, Steven Lash; grandchildren Max, Bruce, and Crystal Lash; great-grandchildren Julian Lash, Anthony and Amelia Lash-Sebastian, and Jose Castro; and half-brothers Gerald and Larry Wilson.
