Donna Lyn Kut (Hebert)
December 26, 1968 - February 5, 2026
Donna Lyn Kut, 57, of Houston, Texas, passed away on February 5, 2026, after several weeks of unexpected and serious medical complications. Born on December 26, 1968, in Houma, Louisiana, Donna carried her South Louisiana roots with her throughout her life, in her warmth, her resilience, and her deep devotion to family.

Donna built a meaningful career as both a chef and a special education teacher, two callings that reflected her compassionate spirit and generous heart. Whether she was in the kitchen or the classroom, she poured herself into caring for others. She had a natural gift for nourishing people through thoughtfully prepared meals and through patient, steady encouragement for the students who depended on her. Her work was not just a profession, but an extension of who she was.
At home, Donna's love for cooking was an expression of love itself. She found joy in preparing meals for family and friends, bringing people together around the table. She also cherished her cats, who brought her comfort and companionship and were treasured members of her home.
Above all, Donna was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, and sister. She is survived by her loving husband, Peter Kut, and her cherished son, Matt Kut, who were the center of her world. She is also survived by her father, Lynn Hebert Sr., and his wife, Ramona Hebert; her stepfather, Ken Hearn; her brothers, Lynn Hebert Jr. and wife Robin, and Tim Hebert and wife Amy; along with extended family and many dear friends who will forever hold her memory close.
She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Myra Hearn (Robichaux), whose love and guidance shaped the woman Donna became.
In keeping with her generous spirit and desire to help others, Donna's body will be donated to science so that she may continue contributing to the education and advancement of future generations.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff of Harbor House Hospice for the care and comfort they provided during her final days.

Donna will be remembered for her kind heart, steady strength, and the quiet but powerful way she cared for those around her. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched in her family, her students, and everyone fortunate enough to share a meal or a moment with her.
Her memory will remain a blessing to all who knew and loved her.
