Donna Traceski Morrison

1952 - 2026

Donna Traceski Morrison went home to be with her Lord and Savior on April 1, 2026, at age 73, after a long battle with Alzheimers and Parkinsons disease.

Donna was born to Robert and June Traceski on December 15, 1952 in New Britain, CT. As a child they moved to East Haddam, CT, where she would fall in love with two things, lake life on Bashan Lake and then later her high school sweetheart, husband of 55 years, David Gordon Morrison Jr.

From a young age, Donna embraced living on the lake and all the activities it had to offer- swimming, boating, fishing, windsurfing, kayaking- she did it all, and she could waterski with the best of them! One of her proudest moments was, at the ripe age of 13, entering a skiing marathon on the CT River, a 50 mile run from the Middletown Railroad Bridge to the Charter Oak Bridge in Hartford, and back to Middletown/Portland. She finished fourth in her class and was the only female water skier that day.

Her love for adventure and the outdoors didn't stop there. From riding motorcycles to hang gliding lessons, camping and biking, Donna had a true zest for life. If the sun was out, she was up and at it, never to squander a moment in the day.

She poured into her family in the same way, as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Survived by her loving husband David, who fulfilled his promise of keeping her home to the very end; her two daughters, Jaime (Catlett) and Shannon (Buganski); eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren; three sisters and her brother; as well as numerous close friends and extended family.

Donna's caring spirit and generous heart could be felt by anyone she came in contact with. She had a special gift of not only seeing the best in people but bringing it out in them as well. Her legacy is one of unyielding love, graciousness and gratitude.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2026 at 2:00pm at Valley Bible Church, Haddam, CT. All of those wishing to pay their respects and celebrate her life are welcome to join. Please come in true Donna fashion- casual attire of jeans, pearls and baseball caps. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to the Alzheimers Association.
