With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Donna Eva Pedro, who left us on August 31, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love and laughter. Donna was more than a mother and beloved Aunt; she was our family's heart and matriarch. She could help you solve any problem with a long talk and a glass of Chardonnay.
Donna Pedro was born on November 16, 1954, in Staten Island, New York. She grew up in Stapleton, where she met many of her lifelong friends. After graduating from Curtis High School, she left for New England. She graduated from Wheaton College in Massachusetts in 1974, where she majored in government. Donna spent much of her career in Human Resources and Diversity and Inclusion, working at companies including Chemical Bank, ABC, Nabisco, and Sony Music. She served as one of the first Chief Diversity Officers at Ogilvy and Mather. In 2017, she took on the Chief Ethics Officer role for Ogilvy worldwide. A challenge and job she truly loved. Before her retirement, she joined WPP as an SVP of Business Integrity.
In her retirement, she became involved with Embracing Our Differences in Sarasota, helping to pick art for their annual exhibition on the Bayside. She also extended her green thumb to a collection of beautiful plants. Donna passed on August 31, 2025, surrounded by the love and care of her friends and family. Her strength was a quiet force, and her love was unconditional until her last breath.
She is survived by her only daughter, Rachel Bradford; her nephews Gregroy and Marcus Pedro, her niece Lauren Garba; her great nephews Christopher Pedro, Jeffrey Pedro, and Landon Wesson, her great nieces Justine Pedro, Lori Garba and Lani Garba; her God Sons Howard Vanderveer, Darlando Bailey, and Evan Macklin; and her beloved pets Jackson, Max, and Cody. She is now reunited with her beloved brother Henry "Hank" Pedro; her Parents, Henry Pedro and Edith Harris; her nephew Scott Pedro, and many cherished friends.
We will be holding a celebration of her extraordinary life on November 14th in New York City. Please reach out to her daughter, Rachel, at
[email protected] for additional details. Please come and share your stories. We know she would want us to remember her with joy and a glass of wine.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Donna's Memory to Angels of Animals [Clifton, NJ] and the Cat Depot [Sarasota, FL].
