Donna Louise Piacenti

Donna Louise Piacenti, age 82, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Donna was a woman whose warmth and spirit left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her. She worked for many years at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford. After retirement, she split her time between Cornfield Point in Old Saybrook, Connecticut, and Lake Worth, Florida, enjoying summers by the sea and sunny winters. She especially loved watching her grandchildren at the beach.
She was predeceased by her parents, William Malliet and Louise "Sue-Sue" Malliet (Ardery), as well as her father-in-law, Fred Ardery.
Donna leaves behind her devoted husband, John Piacenti; her son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Lisa Arsenault; her stepson, Anthony Piacenti; her cherished grandchildren, Steve Arsenault and his fiancée, Carolyn; Samantha Wilson and her husband, Comly; and her beloved great-grandchildren, Oaklyn and Willa.
Donna was affectionately known as the unofficial beach "Mayor" of Cornfield Point, where she spent her summers since childhood. She could be found each day walking through the association, greeting neighbors, or relaxing along the shoreline she loved so much. During the winters, she enjoyed time at Lake Clarke Gardens—sitting by the pool, soaking up the sun, and working on her puzzle books.
Donna was artistic and creative. She could make a pillow or sew up a pair of torn jeans. She could get any stain out your cloths in a matter of seconds. Donna loved penning letters, sending post cards with stickers on it just to say hi and that she missed you. She shared her love of cooking with recipes, dinners with friends and family, and making the famous " Sue- Sue" Barbeque sauce. She loved traveling with John, going for a ride in her Mustang with the top down, and eating lobster rolls. Donna will be remembered for her kindness, vibrancy, and the joy she found in everyday moments. She created a lifetime of memories for her family and friends, who will carry her love with them always.
A private service to celebrate Donna's life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages acts of kindness in her memory.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered in the hearts of those who loved her. We love you Grum!
