Donna Simpson, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on February 1, 2026, in Englewood, Florida. She was 69 years old.
Born on February 27, 1956, in Maryland, Donna was raised with strong values of love, faith, and resilience that would guide her throughout her life. In her later years, she made Florida her home, where she continued to share her warmth and compassion with family and friends.
Donna was a woman of remarkable strength and unwavering faith in God. Her life was centered around the people she loved most—her family, especially her grandchildren and friends. She offered care and encouragement freely and was a constant source of support to those fortunate enough to know her. Her devotion to her loved ones was evident in every aspect of her life.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Joseph Simpson; her children: Heather Simpson, Kelly Williams (Steve Williams), Shane Simpson (Kayla Long), and Thomas Simpson; and her beloved grandchildren: Gaven Williams, Kylie Meekins, Jaxon Williams, and Rowan Simpson. Donna also leaves behind her siblings: Brenda Masterangelo (widow of Jack Masterangelo); Jan Corday (Mike Cordray); Rusty Ellis (Ann Leffingwell); Ron Ellis (Karen Ellis); and Steve Ellis (Anne Ellis). Many nieces, nephews, and dear friends will remember Donna for the kindness and generosity she so freely gave.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Donna's memory to the American Diabetes Association—an organization close to her heart as she faced diabetes with courage and resilience throughout her life.
Donna's warmth, strength, and loving spirit will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all whose lives she touched. May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.
