"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith." ~ 2 Timothy 4:7
Donney Ray Seward, age 71, of Austin passed away peacefully on January 1, 2026.
Donney was born on April 9, 1954, in Austin, Texas. He was raised by two amazing parents, William Ray and Clemmie Fay Seward. He spent his childhood and part of adulthood looking up to, protecting, and bullying his brother and four sisters. Then went on to have and raise two beautiful and spirited children.
He was a smart and hardworking man. He owned and operated Seward Roofing for many years, and then later Down-to-Earth Computers. Then drove for Lively Delivery Service for longer than I can remember. Once he could not work anymore, he still stayed busy at home.
Some of his passions were building and riding Harley Davidson motorcycles, Karate, fixing lawnmowers or anything really, he was so smart when it came to mechanical things, he also built birdhouses, and raised chickens. He really loved his chickens! His favorite thing to do though was spending time with his children and with his grandchildren.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, William Ray and Clemmie Fay Seward, his brother Jack Simpson, his sister Wanda Armstrong, his sister Joyce Courtney, and his baby sister Lanette Rumfield. He is survived by his daughter, Lisa Gail Shultz (husband Nick), his son, Donney Ray Seward JR (wife Viry), his sister, Linda Kay Schumann (husband Guy), his grandchildren; Joseph Earl, Amber Faylynn, Alexander Johnston, and Joshua Ray Shultz, many cousins, nephews, nieces, his sweetie Karen Shaw, and his lifelong friends that were family to him.
A celebration of his life will take place at Round Rock Church of Christ at 1200 N Georgetown Street, Round Rock, TX 78664 on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at 10:30AM.
"Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you." ~John 14:1-3
