Donnis June Vielhaber

1964 - 2026

Donnis June (Hale) Vielhaber, 61, of Prosper, Texas, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2026. She was surrounded by love—her husband of 40 years, Jeff; her youngest daughter, Haley James; and her mother, Charlotte Hale.
Dee Dee—as she preferred to be called—was born April 8, 1964, in Akron, Ohio, to Howard Stanley Hale and Charlotte Ann (Lofton) Hale. She grew up in Canal Fulton, Ohio, where she was a member of the Flag Team and a band member at Northwest High School. She later attended the University of Akron and took correspondence courses through Harvard.
More than anything, Dee Dee loved being a mom—and then becoming "Nanny." She poured herself into raising her daughters, believing that if you are a good person, everything else will fall into place. Life circumstances led her to become a stay-at-home mom, and once in that role, Dee Dee became a force—showing up, taking care of everyone around her, and making home the place everyone wanted to be.
She will be remembered for many things, but her love of travel, especially with family and friends, was one of her greatest joys. Dee Dee also loved lunches with her girlfriends whenever she had the chance.
Dee Dee was preceded in death by her father, Howard, and her sister-in-law, Lynn Marie (Vielhaber) Wise. She is survived by her husband, Jeff; her daughters, Courtney Alissa Vielhaber and Haley Bliss James; her son-in-law, Thomas William (Tommy) James III; her grandson, Thomas William James (Will) IV; her mother, Charlotte Hale, her sister Kimberly (Hale) Norris, her brother, Bruce Thomas Hale, mother-in-law Linda Lester, sister-in-law Laura Meade, along with many beloved nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held at Berkshire Chapel, 9073 Berkshire, Frisco, TX 75033, on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at 2:00 PM, with guests arriving at 1:15 PM. In lieu of flowers, and in keeping with Dee Dee's wishes, those who would like to honor her memory may make a donation to the American Cancer Society or the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
