Doris Jayne Fitting

Doris Jayne Fitting, 88, of Camp Hill, PA, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2026, in Devon, PA.

Born June 5, 1937, to William and Berneice Gulden, Doris was a long-time resident of Camp Hill. She graduated from Camp Hill High School in 1955 and remained deeply connected to her hometown throughout her life. As an active parent while her children attended Camp Hill High School, she helped found the school's ski club, reflecting her adventurous spirit and love of community.

A talented drummer, Doris carried her love of music throughout her life. She was a devoted member of Camp Hill United Methodist Church and was known affectionately as "Tooter" for her joyful spirit, sharp wit, and warmth that brightened every gathering.

She treasured time at the family cottage at Laurel Lake, built by her father—a place filled with laughter, stories, and generations of memories.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband of many years, Paul Fitting, who passed away in 1999. She is survived by her children, Jeffrey Fitting and partner Lesla Sheeder; Douglass Fitting; Pamela Fitting; and Michelle Fitting; and her grandchildren: Jeffrey Fitting Jr., son of Jeffrey; Morgan Fitting, daughter of Douglass; Caleb Criss, Bailey Criss, and Ryland Criss, children of Pamela; and Sophie Grove, Julian Grove, and Adrien Grove, children of Michelle.

In 2022, Doris moved to Devon to live with her daughter Michelle, where she continued to share her humor and love with family and friends.

Funeral and memorial service details will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Camp Hill United Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society.

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
