Doris E. Ziegler, age 75, of Chillicothe, IL, passed away peacefully at home on January 27th, 2026.
Born on July 10th, 1950, Doris built a life centered on love — for her family, and for the dogs she never considered just pets. She held a special place in her heart for beagles, and her beloved Bonz was a constant source of comfort and joy.
Doris is survived by her husband of 55 years, Dan Ziegler. She married the love of her life on May 10th, 1970, and together they faced life side by side, leaning on each other in ways big and small. Their marriage was grounded in loyalty, resilience, and an understanding that deepened over a lifetime together.
She was also a proud mother and is survived by her son, Dustin (Gwen) Ziegler, and her grandchildren, Layla and Emma. She loved talking about her grandchildren — their achievements, their personalities, and the unique individuals they're growing into.
Doris is also survived by her brother Stephen (Kathy) Nordvall. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Douglas Nordvall.
Her legacy lives on in the family she adored and in the moments of kindness that revealed her true nature.
