Born January 20, 1929, in Bristol, PA, to Elmer and Dorothy Higgins. Dorothy was second oldest of 5 children. Dorothy passed peacefully Nov. 21st at the age of 96.
Family was with her when she passed, at the Orlando Hospice House.
Dorothy aka Dottie survived by 4 children: Dennis, Carla, Dina and Kristin who was her main loving caregiver. She has 6 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Dorothy and family moved from New Jersey to Orlando in the mid-1950s. She enjoyed gardening and could often be seen snipping a cutting off a random plant along her walks, to add to her little garden area. She saved every seed from every bloom for planting later. She was an avid reader and lover of books. Always trading with friends or spending hours in the downtown library, where she felt at home. There is no way to count the number of books that were passed through those hands of friends. Dorothy outlived so many of her friends, but Gerry remained by her side visiting often with friendly chats. Sister-in-law Gloria was also a large part of her life visiting regularly for coffee and donuts.
She lived a simple long life, and many loved her and will miss her.
