Dorothy J. Pancoast (Billingsley), 94, of Clayton, NJ, passed away peacefully in her home while surrounded by family on February 15, 2026. Dorothy was born on March 10, 1931 in Gibbstown, NJ. Shortly thereafter, she moved with her family to Fairchance, Fayette County, PA where she lived for the next 20 years. She was proud of her hometown in Pennsylvania and made sure everyone knew her roots were in coal mining country.
Dorothy moved to Trenton, NJ where she met her husband Jim. After marrying in 1954, they welcomed a daughter, Jama, in 1963. She loved her small family with all her heart. Dorothy displayed true unconditional love for over 20 years while she served as her husband's caretaker until his death in 1996. She truly defined what it meant to walk with someone in sickness and in health.
Affectionately known to many as "Dottie," she was the sweetest and most loving person you could ever meet. Whether you were a complete stranger or a close friend, she made you feel important. She made an impact on everyone she met. She had a deep love for animals, especially her feline companions Ziggy, Smokey, and Docket.
Dorothy is predeceased by her husband of 42 years, James W. Pancoast, her parents, John Billingsley and Leitha Billingsley (Wiley) and her sister Twila Squreck (Billingsley).
Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Jama Morgan and son-in law Kurt Morgan, grandson, Shane Morgan (Ashley) and two great grandchildren. Her greatest legacy was her family.
Dorothy's life will be celebrated by family in an intimate private gathering.
