Dorthy June Dohlen

Dorthy June Dohlen, 79, of St. Louis, MO, passed away on October 13, 2025, at Ellisville Nursing & Rehab, following a courageous and difficult, years-long battle with Dementia.

Born on June 17, 1946, in Rolette, North Dakota, Dorthy was the daughter of the late Delbert and Mabel (Kjorvestad) Boucher. She grew up in Rolette, where her family ran the Yellow Corners rural store and bar.

After becoming a mother of four, Dorthy made the powerful decision to redefine her life. She proudly began her dedicated academic journey, earning her Bachelor's degree in Social Work from Minot State University and later achieving her Master's degree in Counseling from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. This fierce commitment to education serving as a testament to her resilience. Dorthy will be remembered for her passion for learning, and the love she held for her family and friends.

Survivors and Family
Dorthy is survived by her four children: Natalie Haagenson (ND), Chad Dohlen (MN), Danielle Dohlen (ND), and Cathie Logan (and husband Lee) (MO).

She is also survived by her three sisters: Leona Boucher (MO), Darlene (Lawrence) Miller (AZ), and Dona Byre (MN); as well as many nieces and nephews.

She leaves behind a legacy of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, including Melora Buchholz (and husband Paul) and their children Georg and Henri; Melaina Haagenson; and Kaleah Logan.

Dorthy's bonus grandchildren include Josh Boiteau (Chad's son) and Cameron Logan (and his daughter, bonus great-granddaughter Lyrah) and Landen Richter (Cathie and Lee's sons).

Dorthy was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, her nephew, her son-in-law Mark Haagenson, and her grandson Jalen Logan.

Service Information
A small memorial service will be held in St. Louis, MO, on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at 11:00 AM. Additional details available by request.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Minot, ND, on Saturday, December 13, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM, at The Coterie, located at: 1407 S. Broadway, Suite B Minot, ND 58701.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to a charity supporting Alzheimer's or Dementia research.
