Douglas “Craig” Young, 71, passed away peacefully on November 24, 2025, in Coalinga, CA. He was born on December 28, 1953, and spent his most of his life in Coalinga. Craig attended CHUSD, home of the "Horned Toads," and later graduated from West Hills College.

Craig was a loving husband, a wonderful father, and a devoted grandpa. His presence brought joy, comfort, and laughter to his family and many friends. He worked for many years as a refinery coordinator, pipefitter, and in off-shore drilling, earning the respect of those around him. Through his career, he formed many lifelong friendships and was admired for his dedication and strong work ethic. His work took him out of town and out of the state, but we were lucky that we could visit him often, turning his job locations into family fun.

An avid outdoorsman, Craig enjoyed hunting, boating, and spending time at Shaver Lake. He loved camping and, in recent years, glamping with his RV—always making special memories with the people he loved most. Family was at the center of everything he did.

Craig was baptized at Chapel Grace in Coalinga, which held a special spot in his heart.

He is survived by his wife, Karen Young; his sons, Derrick (Fabi) and Dustin (Cloe); his grandchildren, Kyrah, Sawyer, and Emory; his mother, Wanda Young; and his sister, Cathy Jensen (Walt). He also leaves behind his loyal and dearly loved dog, Dot. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Noble Young.

A service to celebrate Craig’s life will be held on December 19 at 11:00 AM at Pleasant Valley Christian Center. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a charity or church of your choice.
