Dr. Eleanor Anne Siegel, PhD, passed away at the age of 79 on March 23, 2026, in East Windsor, New Jersey. Born on August 18, 1946, Eleanor dedicated her life to the field of psychology, maintaining a private practice for over 40 years across Monmouth, Ocean, and Mercer counties. She was a respected member of several professional associations, including the American Psychological Association and served on the board of directors of the Mercer County Psychological Association.
Eleanor was known for her independent spirit, a passion for world travel, and her unwavering support for the New York Mets and New York Jets. Her educational journey began at Holy Rosary School in the Bronx, New York, followed by St. Catharine Academy, and culminated with a Bachelor of Arts from New York University and a PhD from SUNY Stony Brook.
She leaves behind her husband, Paul Siegel; son, Daniel Siegel and his spouse Elizabeth; nephew, Matthew Schwartz and his spouse Gail; niece, Carrie Emen Rhoads and her spouse Parker; nephew, Jake Emen; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Michael and Gayle Emen. Eleanor was preceded in death by her mother, Camilla Fosco, and sister, Dr. Alice Gordon.
Funeral arrangements are private. In lieu of flowers, charitable donations are encouraged to be made to the Penn Medicine Hospice, honoring Eleanor's compassionate spirit.
