Dr. Felipe Samuel Wober, a modest, gentle, and well-spoken man embodying the last vestiges of the Silent Generation, passed away peacefully in prayer on January 13, 2026, in Joliet, Illinois, surrounded by the comforting embrace of the family he cherished most.

Born in Concordia, in Argentina's Entre Ríos region, to Pura Haydee Wober and Manuel "Maneco" Wober, Felipe's life was a tapestry of service, intellect, and faith. His journey of service began in the 1950s with the Argentine Navy. He later lived in Olivos, a suburb of Buenos Aires, and for a time in Corrientes, Argentina, where he met his wife, Elcira, the mother of his five children.

A true polyglot with an affinity for languages, Felipe earned a master's degree in English and lived in Brazil, where he became fluent in Portuguese. His linguistic talents extended to Spanish, French, and Italian, possessing an innate mastery of the Romance languages. Professionally, he was a distinguished dentist, graduating with honors from the Facultad de Odontología at the University of Buenos Aires in the late 1950s.

Felipe's clinical excellence was recognized on an international scale when he was selected by the American Dental Association for a highly competitive internship and residency in the United States. Out of over 600 applicants, he was one of only three selected, a distinction that brought him to the U.S. in 1970. In Chicago, he continued his work at Mount Sinai Hospital, using his skilled hands to heal and help others.

Felipe later devoted himself to education as an esteemed educator and author. In his later years, he pursued his deepest calling as an ordained minister of the Christian faith, ministering throughout South and Central Florida from the 2000s until his passing. Staying true to his Messianic Jewish roots, Felipe authored a Christian book and found renewed purpose in spiritual guidance, beautifully blending his heritage with his faith.

Felipe is survived by his five children: daughter Roxana, and sons William, Dean, Christopher, and John Paul; 12 grandchildren; and more than half a dozen great-grandchildren. The immediate family will hold a private ceremony and dedicate a living memorial to pay tribute to his enduring legacy.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to a dental or ministerial organization of your choice. Felipe's life was a testament to quiet strength, lifelong learning, and selfless service. He left a profound, quiet impact on his sons and daughter—we love you, Dad.

May his memory be a blessing. ז״ל (Que su memoria sea para bendición.)
