Durand Bruce Wright passed away at home on October 29, 2025, with his loving wife, Tracy Gail Shults-Wright, by his side. He was surrounded throughout his life by family, friends, and the constant soundtrack of music that defined who he was. The world was cheated when he left.
Music was woven into Durand’s life from childhood. Raised in a musical family and inspired by his mother, an accomplished pianist, he developed a remarkable natural talent and could pick up any instrument and play it with ease. Whether performing, practicing, or simply filling a room with song, music was his language and his gift to those around him. His music reminded us that 'Love is Strong'.
Durand was equally gifted with his hands. An accomplished auto body specialist and natural problem-solver, he could fix anything put in front of him. He took pride in his work and found joy in helping others. His generosity, kindness, and willingness to lend a hand were unmatched. If someone needed help, Durand was there.
He loved animals nearly as much as he loved people, and his life was full of laughter, and compassion. Those who knew him will remember his steady presence, his strength, and the way he made everyone feel welcome. He had an innate ability to 'Look for Life' in everything.
He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Schigle Wright, and his daughter, Tamara Ann Wright.
Durand is survived by his devoted wife, Tracy Gail Shults-Wright; his mother, Illene Elizabeth Bettencourt; his sister, Sandra Ann Sommers (husband Rich Sommers), his children, Durronna Nicole Wright-Fairchild, Shuran Illene Wright (partner Ryan Sersen), Durand Schigle Wright (wife Andrea Silvas Wright), and Shiloh Nokomis Wright (partner Wyatt Nordvik); as well as his beloved grandchildren and many extended family members and friends who will continue to carry his memory forward.
A memorial service celebrating Durand’s life will be held on May 23, 2026, at Micke's Grove Park in Lodi, California. Family and friends are invited to gather, share stories, and honor the music, love, and generosity that defined his life. Please reach out to Shuran Wright for additional information.
