After a long journey with dementia, Earl "Duke" DeRoucher passed away peacefully on January 7, 2026, He was 63 years old.

Born on August 18, 1962, in Milford, Connecticut, Duke brought joy and laughter to those around him from an early age. Though the disease may have taken his memories in the end, it never touched his heart. Known for his charm and playful spirit, Duke's wit was sharp as it was gentle. To all who knew him, he will be remembered fondly as a true "Jokester".

Duke found happiness in life's simple pleasures. He had a deep love for sports—especially cheering on the Miami Dolphins and the NY Mets ,beach. music, time spent with family & friends, behind every joke Duke would tell was a sensitive guy,but above all else, he delighted in making people laugh. His humor was infectious, and his presence could light up any room.

He is lovingly remembered by his sister Gail "Lil Sis" Benedetto and her husband Gary; his beloved nieces and nephews; many cousins; and numerous aunties and uncles. Duke was predeceased by his father Rowland Earl "Duke" DeRoucher, his mother Gail A. Anderson, his sister Sharon "Big Sis" Hotchkiss, and many other loved ones who now welcome him home.

As we celebrate the life of a brother "Bro" uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend, we find comfort knowing that Duke's journey with dementia has ended. In our hearts and memories, his true self shines once again—dancing to his favorite song "Old Time Rock & Roll" "And reminiscing about the days of old" with his Dad,Mom Big Sis and those he loved most.
The family has planned a private memorial to celebrate Duke, Our family would like to thank everyone for all the love & support during this difficult time, Please raise a glass to Duke with a smile and celebrate in your own way, May his memory bring laughter & comfort to all who knew him.
