Edie passed away peacefully surrounded by their loving family on December 5th, 2025 at The Philip Hulitar Hospice Center in Providence, RI. Edie was the child of the late Edward R. Barlick and his wife, Julia C. (Janusik) Barlick. Edie was born in Rhode Island and has spent the last 40 years as a Florida resident. Edie served in the US Navy, and was a renowned drummer for The Happy Bachelors, Jolly Rich, Happy Louie, Dick Pillar, The Pete Shalins band, The B-Sharps, The Sunshine State Express, and Florida Honkey Polka Band. Edie was co-founder of the Sunshine State Express. Edie collaborated in recording 2 albums; Greetings From The Sunshine State, and Southern Fried Polkas. Edie was passionate about bringing the joy of music and good times to those around them. Edie was an avid animal lover and made close bonds with many beloved canines and neighborhood cats. Edie leaves behind 2 sons; Scott Barlick and Daughter-in-Law Renee of Attleboro, MA and Erik Barlick and Daughter-in-Law Kimberly of Narragansett, RI, as well as 3 grandchildren; Seth Barlick of South Attleboro, MA, Lucas Barlick and Angelique Barlick of Narragansett, RI. They also leave beloved life-long companion Regina "Reggie" Poteralski of Tampa, FL, among many more friends and loved ones.
Memorial Services will be held privately but all are encouraged to celebrate Edie's life in any way that brings them comfort & joy.
The Barlick Family would like to thank the wonderful staff of the Rhode Island VA Hospital and Philip Hulitar Hospice Center for their acts of profound care and compassion.
