Edna Amelia Roland, 90, of Duncannon, PA, formerly of Williamsburg, PA, passed away on Tuesday February 3, 2026 peacefully at her home. She was born August 19, 1935 in Williamsburg, PA. She was the youngest of 6 children to the late Frank Ferman Forshey and Joanna Grace (Walker) Forshey.

She is survived by her four children, Duane Franklin Oakes Jr. of Duncannon, PA, Paul Joseph Oakes of Reynoldsville, PA, Kathileen Louise Oakes of Duncannon, PA, and Faith Ann (Oakes) Spitler of New Cumberland, PA; Five step children, Dorsey Roland Jr., Craig Roland, Rose Allison, Karen Barber and Faith Roland; 8 grandchildren; 11 step-grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 16 step-great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. She is preceded in death by her first husband Duane Franklin Oakes Sr., her second husband Dorsey Roland Sr.; 5 siblings Raymond Franklin Forshey, Oscar Doyle Forshey Sr., Paul M. Forshey Sr., Dorothy Evaline (Forshey) Lockawich and Betty Jeannette (Forshey) Farringer.

Edna worked on her family farm growing up, even having her very own pet pig. She later owned and operated her family farm with her husband Duane. She won a prestigious award for the Future Homemakers of America Club in high school. She graduated from the School of Commerce in 1968. She also worked as a receptionist for Dr. Wingert in Altoona, PA for a short time. After her marriage to Dorsey, she relocated to Duncannon, PA where she worked at Olivetti and later spent her days as a homemaker.

Edna was a devout follower of Christ, a wonderful mother and grandmother, and a kindhearted friend to all. She loved reading, puzzles, gardening, canning, baking, music, animals, laughter, the occasional video game and spending quality time with those she loved most.

Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 from 11:00 AM until noon.
