Edna Mae "Kitty" Master, of Murfreesboro, passed away on August 25, 2025, at the age of 100.

Kitty was the beloved wife of the late Emanuel "Nick" Master and a loving mother to Cynthia (Michael) Coakes and Cathleen Cross. She was a cherished grandmother to Kimberly DiNino, Maxwell Cross, and Zoe Cross.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edmund Remington and Mae Remington, and her brothers, Robert Remington and Jack Remington.

Kitty was born on February 28, 1925, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She spent much of her childhood at St. Rose's Orphanage and attended Messmer High School. Following her calling to care for others, she went on to St. Joseph's Nursing School in Alton, Illinois, where she became a Registered Nurse. In 1944, she proudly served as a member of the World War II Cadet Nursing Corps.

Kitty met her husband, Nick, in Chicago, and they were married in 1951. Together they raised their two daughters in Park Ridge, Illinois, where Kitty continued her career as a nurse.

Upon retirement, Kitty and Nick relocated to Spring Hill, Florida, and later settled in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, where they led a rich life of volunteering with Feed America First and The Journey Home. They were active, devoted members of their community and especially enjoyed spending time with friends at Patterson Park Community Center.

Kitty lived a long and meaningful life defined by resilience, service, and love. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.

A celebration of Kitty's life will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026 at SportsCom 2310 Memorial Blvd. Murfreesboro TN from 11am to 3pm with a service at 1pm.
