Edvin P. Zangenberg, 80, of Chino Hills, California, passed away peacefully on December 9, 2025, in Fontana, California, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on April 15, 1945, in Copenhagen, Denmark, Edvin was the son of Eigil V. Zangenberg and Edel R. Zangenberg. His early years in Denmark laid the foundation for a life marked by resilience, dedication, and deep familial bonds.
Throughout his life, Edvin embraced the roles of brother, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend with unwavering devotion. He is survived by his brother, Torben Zangenberg, and his sister-in-law, Carol. Edvin’s legacy continues through his children from his first marriage: Erik Zangenberg and his wife Lisa; Edward Zangenberg; and Angela Love and her husband Phil.
Edvin was a proud grandfather to Joshua and Dakota (children of Erik); Jacqueline, Joy, Gracie, Jeremy, Zack, and Brandon (children of Edward); and Zachary and his wife Aurora, Joshua and his wife Jessica, and Hannah with fiancé David (children of Angela). His joy multiplied with the arrival of great-grandchildren Eliana, Luna, Stavros, and soon-to-arrive Lance (Angela’s grandchildren), each bringing new light into his later years.
From his second marriage came a blended family that Edvin cherished deeply. He is survived by stepchildren Jennifer Nagy and her husband Thomas; Christopher Allen and his wife Heidi; and Ryan Allen. His love extended to their children as well: Kaley, Tyler, and Nathan (children of Jennifer), along with Hannah and her husband Nate, Kyla, and Landon (children of Christopher).
Edvin also shared a profound bond with Chip Cunningham and his wife, Jannette, and Linda Eifos. Chip and Linda are close family friends whom Edvin considered as a chosen son and daughter. Through this special connection came grandchildren Katie Cunnigham Smith (and her husband Kris), Candice Cunningham Tavis (and her husband Montana), Sabrina Cunningham Frisbee (and her husband Roger), Sebastian Eifos Hoe, and Aleksander Eifos Hoe. The next generation included great-grandchildren Josephine and Beau (children of Candice) as well as Niya and Mila (children of Sabrina), each one a testament to the enduring love that surrounded Edvin throughout his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eigil and Edel Zangenberg; his brother Evan; his first wife, Arleen; and his second wife, Renae. Their memories remained close to Edvin’s heart throughout the years.
Edvin’s life was defined not only by the family he nurtured but also by the strength with which he faced life’s challenges. His presence brought comfort to those around him—a steady hand in times of need and a warm smile in moments of joy.
May Edvin P. Zangenberg’s memory bring peace to all who knew him. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those he loved so dearly.
