Edward Phillip Bucklin, 96, of Rancho Palos Verdes, passed away peacefully at his home on March 31, 2026.

Known as "Ed" to his friends and family (and "Poppy" to his grandchildren), he was born on October 28, 1929 in Los Angeles, California to Edward and Ann Bucklin. Ed was an only child and a true Angeleno, growing up in the mid-city area. He attended Loyola High School and UCLA, ultimately graduating with a degree in Electrical Engineering.

Ed enlisted in the Army, and met his wife, Marilyn Adele Munyan ("Lynn"), when he was stationed at Fort Monmouth, New Jersey. They had a whirlwind six-week courtship, marrying shortly before Ed shipped out to Korea in 1951. Ed and Lynn had four children, Mark, Greg, Kathy and Eric. They raised their family in Palos Verdes and were active in school and sports activities and their parish church, St. John Fisher, for many years. Ed worked as an engineer for several companies, ending his career in 1993 with Xerox. During his early years of retirement, Ed worked as a real estate agent and broker. Ed was also a lifelong staunch Bruin, a strategic and skillful bridge player, and he loved to ski with the family making trips to Mammoth Mountain for several years to enjoy the slopes.

Ed lost Lynn in 2003, but is survived by Mark and his wife, Lucia, Greg, Kathy and her partner, Joni, Eric and his wife, Becky, his grandchildren, Olivia Witry (married to Nick Witry), Andrew Bucklin (married to Tamara nee Crivello), Cassidy Bucklin, Derrion Bucklin, and his great-grandchildren, Olivia & Nick's daughters, Lillian and Margaret Witry, and Andrew & Tamara's son, Giuliano Bucklin. Ed is also survived by Carolyn Woo, his loving companion for nearly twenty years, who brought meaning and joy to Ed's later years.

A funeral mass for Ed will be held on Tuesday, April 14, 2026 at 10 a.m. at St. John Fisher, 5448 Crest Road, Rancho Palos Verdes. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you consideration making a donation to True Care Hospice, 7355 Topanga Canyon Blvd., CA Ste. 200, Canoga Park, CA 91303
