Edward Stevenson Joseph, 68, of Tampa, Florida, passed away on September 20, 2025.
Born in Georgetown, Guyana, to Doris and Charles Joseph, Edward worked in Guyana's National Service, assigned to a coastal vessel. He came to the US in 1981, where he was a factory worker until he joined the United States Navy in 1982 as an Engineer. Edward became a US citizen in 1991.
During his 20-year service, he traveled to some of his favorite locations, including Spain, Hong Kong, and Japan. He was a lifelong learner who loved adventure and enjoying cultures.
After retiring, he moved to Tampa, Florida, where he enjoyed a multitude of hobbies, including airplane flight simulation, model trains, exploring, engaging in long conversations about historical events, baking bread, being a car enthusiast, and staying active.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents, Doris and Charles Joseph and brother, Thomas Joseph.
His wife, Patty Sykes-Joseph, survives Edward; his children, Andrew
Edward Llyod Joseph, Lancelot Kesley Grandsoult, Vallie Mekela Joseph and
Jelani Nickolas Joseph; his brother and sister, Ivorina Gordon and Lloyd
Humphery (Monica); In-Laws: Sandra Joseph, Debra Jean Sykes, Maxine Banks, Marcia Gaines, and Vernon Sykes (Barbara), six grandchildren, and a host of other loving extended family members.
