Edward Fay Shore Jr. 87 passed away peacefully Feb 15, 2026, in his home with his family.
Edward grew up in Palm Valley, Florida, and attended Bishop Kenny High School before graduating from Fletcher High School. These early years shaped the values and determination that defined him throughout his life.
He proudly retired from JEA, where he dedicated many years of faithful service, and pride in providing for his family, Edward touched many lives through his career.
As a young man, Edward demonstrated the bravery and compassion that would define his character. Alongside a friend, he rescued a stranded bald eagle — a remarkable act reflecting his fearless spirit.
Edward shared 49 devoted years with his beloved first wife, Sandra Lee Shore, building a life centered on love and family. After Sandra's passing, he was blessed to find love again and married Jeanette, with whom he shared 18 wonderful years of marriage and companionship.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Fay Shore Sr. and Harriett Shore; his wife, Sandra Lee Shore; his daughter, Deborah L. Shore; his son, Lewis Fay Shore; and his two brothers, Rickey Shore and Peter Shore.
Edward is survived by his loving wife, Jeanette; his sons Tommy (Pamela) Shore, and Edward Shore; his daughter-in-law Laurie Shore; his stepchildren Gil (Colleen) Phillips, Eddie (Nicole) Phillips, and Mike (Caroline) Phillips; his cherished grandchildren Kayleigh, Carly, Chance, Alyssa, Juliet, Dalton, Tristan, Dillon, and Leianna; his treasured great-grandchildren Harrison, Bennett, and Vincenzo; and his sister Harriet ("Mickey") Thomas. He also leaves behind extended family and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.
A celebration of Edward's life will be held at Adel Garage Cultural Center, 716 Ocean Blvd, Atlantic Beach, FL, on March 28th from 3:30 to 5:30 PM. All who knew and loved him are invited to join in honoring his remarkable life.
