Edward James "Ed" Williams, age 86, passed away on January 15, 2026, in Richardson, Texas. Born on October 25, 1939, in Toledo, Ohio, Ed lived a full and vibrant life marked by dedication to his family, profession, and a deep sense of adventure.
Ed began his education at St. Charles Catholic grade school and graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1957. He later earned his degree from the University of Toledo in 1972, laying the foundation for a distinguished career in accounting. After passing the CPA exam in 1974, Ed became a partner at the William Vaughan Company in Toledo. Over the years, he developed expertise in accounting for the oil and gas industry—a specialization that earned him respect among colleagues and clients alike. He later continued his professional journey with his own firm before concluding his career with a dedicated team at Andre and Associates in McKinney, Texas.
Before embarking on his professional path, Ed served his country with honor. He joined the Coast Guard Reserve in 1956 and was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1958. Stationed in Germany as a radio signal code operator, he served until his honorable discharge in 1962.
Ed's life was rich with experiences beyond work and service. In his younger years, he embraced adventure through skydiving, scuba diving, golf, and racquetball—activities that reflected his energetic spirit. Later in life, he found joy traveling across the country by RV with his beloved wife Jacquelyn. Together they explored countless destinations and made lasting friendships along the way, all the while collecting a few stories about torn-off air conditioners and diesel gas during their travels.
Those who knew Ed remember him as a caring and compassionate companion who held strong convictions and never hesitated to share them. His storytelling was legendary—often telling and retelling favorite tales to anyone who joined him on long road trips or quiet evenings under the stars.
Ed is survived by his devoted wife Jacquelyn Williams; sons Timothy (Jane), Michael (Sunita), Christopher, and Joseph; grandchildren Julianne Perkins (Kendrick), Madeline Williams (John Hill), John Williams, Elizabeth Turschen (Ian), Claire Williams, and Callum Williams; great-granddaughter Kamry Perkins; stepson Thomas Jeffrey (Suzette); stepgrandchildren Tiffany (Rey) Nungaray, Jamie (Ryan) Grenier, Ashley (Tavo) Guzman, and TJ; Bridgette Jeffrey, Brooke Jeffrey and numerous great-grandchildren; sister Jeanne Ryan; brothers Ron, Jim, Gary, and Allan (Beth).
He was preceded in death by his parents Eleanor and James Williams; brothers John and Dan Williams; brother-in-law Jerry Ryan; sisters-in-law Betty, Linda, and Tina Williams.
