Efthimios “Timmy” Tsombanidis, age 74, of Norwalk, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on February 5, 2026, surrounded by his loving children. Born on January 3, 1952, in Mesovouno, Nomo Kozani, Greece, Timmy was the eldest of five children born to Christos and Martha Tsombanidis. He immigrated to the United States on June 11, 1966, where he made Norwalk, CT his home and built a life rooted in family, faith, and hard work.

Timmy attended Norwalk High School and from a young age was known for his kind heart and willingness to help others. He had a lifelong passion for cars—especially classic GTOs—and took great pride in working on them. Timmy had an unmistakable zest for life that could be felt the moment he entered a room. He loved music deeply and would often laugh as he told the story of how he missed Woodstock by just fifteen minutes—a moment he carried with him and shared as if it had happened yesterday. Timmy had a rare gift for storytelling, whether he was speaking about the Word of God or reminiscing about life with his siblings and parents.

Timmy had a natural way with words, often turning a simple phrase into something memorable, humorous, or heartfelt. His contagious smile and infectious laugh—deep and full, bellowing straight from his belly had a way of lifting spirits and drawing people in. He was truly unique and memorable, anyone who met Timmy walked away knowing they would never meet another person like him. Above all, Timmy cherished his family and his faith.

A man of deep and unwavering belief, Timmy was a faithful follower of the True Vine of Holiness Church and Pastor Joseph Greene. His Christian faith guided his life, offering him strength, purpose, and peace, and he lived those beliefs through compassion, humility, and service to others.

Timmy was predeceased by his beloved parents, Christos and Martha Tsombanidis. He is survived by his three children: Christos Tsombanidis, Joseph Tsombanidis (Cassandra), and Tracy Twigg (Daniel), whom he loved deeply and was immensely proud of. He was a devoted brother to Spiros Tsombanidis (Evmorfia), Katina Andreadis (Elias), Pavlos Tsombanidis (Ipatea), and Ersaia Tsombanidis.

He was a proud grandfather to Daniel, Matthew and Ryan, and a loving uncle and great-uncle to many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews—all of whom he treasured and who each held a special piece of his heart.

Timmy will be remembered as a loving father, a devoted brother, and a faithful Christian. In honor of Timmy, the family will be holding a Celebration of Life in spring 2026.
