Eileen Gail McClure, 70, passed peacefully at a Gainseville, Florida hospital on December 13th, 2025. Janis Robertson, her lifelong friend of over 55 years was by her side. Gail was born in St. Petersburg. FL and was a 1973 graduate of St. Petersburg High School. She began sailing at the St. Petersburg Yacht Club at a young age instilling a love and passion for the sea. Gail would later go on to earn a United States Coast Guard captain's license and graduate with top honors from one of the finest French cooking schools in England. Her adventurous spirit led her to crewing aboard private mega luxury yachts, sailing the Caribbean and Mediterranean seas as a private chef. She later retired from Sarasota Hospice as a Food Safety Supervisor.
Gail's favorite things in life were spending time at the beach, bicycling, playing pickleball, enjoying a fine glass of wine, traveling, shopping, volunteering at the Discovery Center in St. Pete, and spending time with close friends.
She is predeceased by her parents Edwin & Dorothea McClure and her sister Lynne McClure.
The blessing from Gail's family and many friends is "may the seas lie smooth before you and may a gentle breeze forever fill your sails until we meet again."
