Eileen Peterson (née Johnson), age 88, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2026, in Mahtomedi, Minnesota after a long and courageous fight with dementia.
Born on October 15, 1937, in St. Paul, Minnesota, Eileen grew up in the heart of the city and attended Monroe High School. Her early years in St. Paul shaped a resilient and hardworking spirit that would carry her through a life filled with dedication and perseverance.
Throughout her life, Eileen worked many jobs, embracing each opportunity with determination and grace. Her work ethic was matched by her deep-rooted faith—something she held dear throughout her life. In recent years, she found spiritual community and strength at Apple Valley Baptist Church, where she took great pride in her relationship with Christ.
Family was central to Eileen's life. She is lovingly remembered by her sons Ronald (Kari) Svoboda, Clint (Therese) Peterson, Russ (Jean) Peterson, Vince "Casey" (Robin) Peterson, 11 grandchildren,10 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Her legacy continues through them and the lives they touch.
Eileen was preceded in death by her parents Lilian and Frank Johnson; her beloved son Joseph (Mari) Peterson; her brother Robert (Barbara); and many cherished friends whose memories remained close to her heart.
Among the many moments that brought joy to Eileen's life, one of her favorite memories was a trip to Sweden—a journey that connected her to heritage and adventure alike.
Eileen's life was marked by quiet strength, enduring faith, and love for those around her. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew her. Help her family celebrate her life on Friday, March 20, 2026 with a Visitation at 10:00AM and a Memorial Service at 11:00AM at Eureka Baptist Church 2393 210th Ave. in St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin. Luncheon to follow service.
