Eileen left this life peacefully on Feb 16, 2026, surrounded by her wife, Trish and her constant companion, Olivia, her little dog. She was born in Brooklyn, NY on July 29,1952 to Louis Zaloom and M. Eileen Clarke. She was the first of three children. They later moved to Staten Island where Eileen and her siblings grew up and she went to St. Mary Margaret's Catholic Grammar School and Countess Moore Catholic High School for Girls.
Eileen graduated from St. Luke's Hospital School of Nursing in 1973 and stayed to work for the next almost 22 years. She worked as staff nurse, promoted to assisted head nurse in a surgical patient care floor, promoted to head nurse in 1980, promoted to nurse manager of a newly established AIDS floor. She left St. Luke's in the beginning of 1990s and started on her path to furthering her college education while continuing to work.
She attended Hunter College, Mount St. Vincent College, and New School completing her undergrade (BA) and graduate degree, master's in health service management.
Simultaneously she worked in a few local nursing homes in Westchester County as an educator for staff, then the important job MDS coordinator (categorizing coding for Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement - how nursing homes get paid), then she became a Director of Nursing.
Eileen was offered a position at New Rochelle College as an instructor in their Nursing program in 2006. She retired in 2020.
Eileen met Trish in 1971 when visiting her sister, Monica, who was in school at St. Luke's Hospital with Eileen. Trish moved from Buffalo to NYC and was hired by St. Luke's Hospital as a nurse after finishing nursing school in 10/2/1978. They kindled a friendship and became life partners.
Eileen was known for her kindness, generosity, and unwavering devotion and loyalty to those she loved. Throughout her life, Eileen touched countless hearts, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and compassion.
She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her wife, her brother Peter, his wife Lisa, her sister Celeste. The Campbell family seven brothers-in-law, nine sisters-in-law, eleven nephews, six nieces, three grandnephews and eight grandnieces.
Through quiet acts of kindness, spirited moments of joy, Eileen brought light to the lives of those around her. Her enjoyment showed up for birthdays, weddings, graduations, and funerals of friends and family. Eileen loved music, crossword puzzles, taking in or participating the sites in New York City such as Broadway shows, St. Patrick's Day Parade, Women's Volleyball at Columbia, are some of the examples of living with fun and adventure. She was a lifelong learner, and some of her notable hobbies are crocheting afghans for siblings, in-laws, and friends,

Though Eileen no longer walks among us, her spirit lives on in the love shared, the lessons taught, and the memories cherished. May we find comfort in knowing that Eileen's legacy endures, and may we honor her memory by carrying forward the kindness and compassion she so freely gave.
