ELAINE GOUMAS PETROPOULOS, Elaine Goumas Petropoulos, 90, died March 22, 2026, after a brief illness. She was born and raised in Summit, New Jersey, lived in Keyport, New Jersey, raised her family in Chatham, New Jersey, retired in Harwichport, Massachusetts before moving to South Hutchinson Island, Florida in 2002.

Elaine attended Susquehanna University. Before her retirement in 1990, she was the Manager of the Collections Unit for Dunn & Bradstreet. A loving wife who was devoted to her family, she enjoyed activities with her husband, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She enjoyed being outdoors gardening and was a member of the Monomoy Yacht Club and PTO. She was a strong member of her communities including past President and current Emeritus of the Garden Club of Harwichport Massachusetts. She also enjoyed and engaged in many of the activities within her community at Ocean Village including Mahjong, Bocce, Trivia nights, Bingo and Left/Right/Center games, Sit & Fit exercise and greatly valued her membership in AWOL & the Red Hat Ladies. She volunteered at the Manatee Center, the Ocean Village Library, and took great pride in supporting the community by sewing masks during the Covid Pandemic. She is described by those who know and love her as a caring and generous person filled with spice and feistiness.

Elaine's strongest passion was for her previously deceased (2007) husband Ernest John Petropoulos, whom she enjoyed 49 years of a strong, supportive, and loving marriage and partnership. Survivors include son, Robert E. Petropoulos and his wife Pam of Ringoes, New Jersey and Melbourne, Florida; daughter Nancy P. Milligan and her husband Paul of Needham, Massachusetts, her five grandchildren and their spouses/fiancé, and 2 great grandchildren. She is also predeceased by her sisters Jenny Gianis, Georgia Cougle, & Christina (Tina) Rogers.

Memorial contributions may be made to Treasure Coast Hospice, 2500 Virginia Avenue, Suite 202, Fort Pierce, Florida 34981. Family Services will be held privately.
