Eleanor L. Blais, of Bedford, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2026, at the age of 93.
Born on August 8, 1932, Eleanor lived a long and full life, guided by her fierce love for family, her sharp sense of humor, and her determination to live life on her own terms. She faced life with strength, warmth, and a quick wit that could light up a room. Whether through a perfectly timed remark or a knowing smile, Eleanor had a way of making people feel both seen and entertained.
She shared a devoted life with her beloved husband, Robert "Bobby" Blais, who predeceased her. Their partnership was a source of deep love and pride, and she carried that bond with her always.
Eleanor was a devoted mother to her sons, Dan Blais and his partner Terry Bullard, and Doug Blais and his wife Chris. She was especially proud of her granddaughters, Carly and Grace, who were truly the joy of her life. Time spent with them—whether in conversation, laughter, or simply being together—was time she treasured most.
She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Diane Sewall, and her husband Richard, along with their sons, Rick and Steve, their wives, and daughters, all of whom held a special place in her heart. Beyond her immediate family, Eleanor was blessed with a loyal circle of dear friends and extended family who enriched her life with friendship, laughter, and countless shared moments.
Known affectionately as Mom, Ellie, Nana, and Nana Blais, Eleanor wore those titles with pride. They reflected the love, care, and presence she gave so freely to her family.
Eleanor leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and humor. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, when family and friends can gather to remember Eleanor and celebrate a life so well lived.
